Sam Finneseth

My name is Sam Finneseth and I work at Des Moines Public Schools. I have been a 9-12 Spanish teacher as a department of one and a 6-8 teacher with 408+ students per semester. I am currently the World Language Curriculum & Seal of Biliteracy Coordinator & ELL Support Specialist for DMPS. Language acquisition is my speciality. I am working on my Ph.D. from Drake University and adjunct teach ELL courses for Grand View University. 

I enjoy sharing my passion for languages with others, encouraging equitable language learning experiences for all students, and ensuring Iowa's future as a culturally competent and welcoming state for all. Our educational, social, and economic future relies on these skills. Iowa's future is in our classrooms now.
