March 7 & 8, 2014
Participants will converse with native speakers and fellow language instructors to discuss an authentic sharing instructional strategies to empower students, compare cultures, and build language confidence and competency through various modes of communication. Sessions will be conducted entirely in Spanish. The focus of the book discussion will be Cuban American identity, a follow-up from last year’s topic of Cuban history.
The course will be taught in a workshop format with the instructors facilitating discussions and presentations. Participants will be listening, speaking, writing, and reading materials in Spanish, recognizing that fluency levels will vary among participants.
