For the third consecutive year, IWLA is offering a technology workshop in conjunction with the annual conference. This year the 3 hour workshop will be FREE to pre-registered conference attendees.
It will be comprised of two 1.5 hour sessions with four concurrent presentations to choose from at each time slot. By hosting the event in computer labs, we are able to offer the opportunity for hands-on practice with the applications/techniques demonstrated during each session. Scheduled presenters include: Paulino Brener, Kristine Jimenez, Christine McCormick, and Jason Noble.
Planned topics include: building basic websites, uses of Twitter/Facebook to build professional learning networks (PLN) and extensions for use in the classroom, Web 2.0 tools (including Voki, Animoto, Glogster, etc.).
Registration for the event will be handled through the IWLA website and will be capped at 60 participants. Another change this year is that participants do not need to pre-register for specific sessions.
License renewal credit will be available (Update 10/4/11: We are researching other possibilities for grad credit in light of Heartland's new policy against offering grad credit for conferences.) Please contact Stacy Amling (slamling@dmacc.edu) if you have any other questions about the workshop.
